What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Apart from any customer information you provide us, data is also collected via cookies and any comments left on the site. As a customer of hairyjaynehandmade.co.uk you have consented to giving us your name, email address, postal address in order to fulfill your order. Payment is taken through the third party website Paypal, no payment information such as card or account numbers are accessed by us.

Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

When visitors leave comments or use our contact forms we collect the data shown and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We do not share your data with any third parties other than the information provided to PayPal when an order is processed.

How we protect your data

There is only one website administrator for this website (Jayne Rutland) so data access is extremely restricted. We make regular backups of files, are protected against viruses by running anti-virus software and use Shark Gate to protect our site from possible cyber attacks.

What rights you have over your data

For registered users, we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for the username). We can also see and edit that information. We can not see any passwords that you have ever used, but we can change the password for you if you request for us to do so (in the case that you can't remember or reset it yourself for whatever reason).

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you at any time.

How long we retain your data

Your data is retained by us until either you delete it or you ask us to delete it.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other than that, we do not send your data to anyone else. We do not use Google Analytics. This site is built with WordPress which does not collect any analytics data.

We use trusted companies Vidahost as our hosting service provider and Shark Gate for constant website protection including firewall. These companies may occasionally require temporary access into the site.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Your contact information will be kept private at all times. We will never share it with any other person or company.
