What is the difference between the Hairy Jayne conditioners?

We make three strengths of liquid conditioner to suit different hair needs. The Light Conditioner is our most lightweight formula, ideal for fine hair or as a leave-in and co-wash for other hair types.

The Cream Conditioner is a medium-weight option, great for hair that's moderately dry or frizzy. The Treatment Conditioner is our richest formula, designed for very dry or damaged hair. It also doubles as a weekly intensive mask applied to dry hair before washing. We also make plastic-free solid conditioner bars, a fragrance-free option, and travel-size minis across the range.

Are all Hairy Jayne conditioners silicone free?

Yes, every conditioner in the Hairy Jayne range is completely silicone free, as well as sulphate free, paraben free and phthalate free. Instead of silicones, we use naturally derived plant oils, wheat protein and pro-vitamin B5 to smooth, strengthen and nourish hair. All formulas are up to 97% naturally derived and biodegradable, and 100% vegan and cruelty free.

How do solid conditioner bars work?

Our conditioner bars are completely waterless and solid, but melt down into a cream with warm water. Break off a small piece, work it in your palm with a little water until it forms a paste, then add more water until it becomes a cream and apply to the mid-lengths and ends of wet hair.

Alternatively, dissolve a quarter of the bar in boiling water to make a liquid conditioner that will keep for a few weeks. Because there's no water in the formula, no preservatives are needed, it's simply olive oil, mango butter, wheat protein and plant oils.

Can I use Hairy Jayne conditioner on colour-treated hair?

Yes, all of our conditioners are suitable for colour-treated hair. Because they're free from sulphates, silicones and parabens, they're much gentler on colour than many traditional conditioners. The Treatment Conditioner is particularly good for colour-treated hair that's dry or damaged, as its rich formula with wheat protein and plum kernel oil helps to strengthen and nourish strands without stripping colour.
