Best of all, they’re pH balanced, so your hair and scalp stay healthy — with no need for an apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards.

Directions for use

Saturate your hair thoroughly with warm water.
Rub the bar directly onto your scalp or in the palm of your hand.
Massage your scalp until the shampoo lathers, adding a small amount of water if necessary.
Rinse your hair and scalp well, until your hair feels squeaky clean.

Care Instructions

Keep It Dry: To prolong the use of your shampoo bar, keep it out of direct water, or store it in a dry place, in between uses. The bars are re-mouldable and can be reshaped (like putty!) if necessary. We recommend keeping it on a Shampoo bar holder.

Caution: If you have sensitive skin, perform a patch test to check for any allergic reactions. Avoid contact with eyes; if the product gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Keep out of reach of children.

Fragrance

Our fragrances are created with essential oil blends. Choose from:

Floral – Geranium, Bergamot & Vanilla*
Citrus – Grapefruit, May Chang & Jasmine
Musk – Neroli*, Vetiver & Patchouli
Herbal – Rosemary, Lavender & Clary Sage

The essential oils in the Herbal shampoo bar were chosen specifically to soothe problem scalps. The Herbal fragrance is not recommended for use during pregnancy due to the Rosemary and Clary Sage essential oils.

Great product

Lovely product. I don’t really need conditioner anymore! I’ve been using Hairy Jayne solid shampoo bars for years now and don’t intend to change.

Love this shampoo! It's brilliant.

Been using solid shampoos for many years, although for a while I didn't realise what was marketed as solid shampoo was actually soap (i.e. saponified fats and oils). It was fine at home with our softened water but whenever I went anywhere else and the water was harder I was left with a sticky residue on my hair. It also caused the colour in my hair to fade quickly. Fast forward to discovering Hairy Jayne and all these fabulous products. The shampoo bar is genuinely a shampoo (not a soap) and leaves my hair feeling clean but not stripped, shiny and healthy. My colour stays true with little fading or loss of vibrancy even with daily washing. I have the herbal scented one which I absolutely love - it smells like a spa! I used to sometimes get a dry scalp and flaky skin but that no longer happens ever with this product. Oh, and I also 'reverse wash' with this and a different conditioner - a technique I discovered in Jayne's blog for fine or straight hair. This has been a total game changer for me - sounds dramatic but it's true!

The best shampoo bar

This is the best shampoo bar I've ever tried (and I've tried so many!). I've been wanting to switch to solid shampoo for ages, but every other bar I've tried ended up leaving residue, making my hair look and feel gross. This one doesn't, has a lovely, silky feel, smells great and lathers up beautifully. Just keep it away from water in between washes. Amazing product, thank you very much!

Lovely soft hair

I’ve been using this shampoo bar since 2020 circa (not the same bar, obviously!) and it leaves my hair so soft, shiny, fluffy and full of volume. I alternate between different shampoo and each time I go back to this bar because it makes my hair feel better than any other shampoo I use. I have fine hair so this works so well for me. I will agree with some of the previous reviews on how it lathers, it can take quite a bit of product to lather up well into the hair and it does lose its shape quite quickly and breaks into parts. Not sure how it can be improved but please don’t change the recipe too much as it makes my hair feel long and luscious. I’m about to purchase another bar now as we speak 🙂
